Photography Video:

The pioneering street photographer who reshaped the use of color recounts the story of his life and career

In 1962, Joel Meyerowitz started capturing life on the streets of New York; since then, he has travelled with his camera throughout North America, Europe, and beyond. In his new book Meyerowitz collaborates with historian and photographer Lorenzo Braca to provide an inside look at his illustrious life and work. The Pleasure of Seeing (Damiani, 2023) skips back and forth between the histories of many of Meyerowitz’s well-known images, the importance of the visual image, and technical information on lenses, printing, and film.

In this photography video, Meyerowitz and Braca discuss The Pleasure of Seeing and Meyerowitz’s legendary career, and share some of the 100+ images from the book, everything from iconic photographs to previously unpublished images.
